Operation Christmas Child
Anyone interested in packing a shoebox with gifts for Operation Christmas Child can pick up boxes and packing brochures at the table in the worship center foyer. We are encouraging individuals, families, and Sunday School classes to participate. If you have any questions, contact Nan Reeves ( ). Deadline to return your shoebox is Sunday, November 12.

Southland's annual HOPE Market offers you a Christmas shopping alternative with gift selections that will be more meaningful for your family members and friends and will give the gift of hope to those who need it most. Your monetary gift in the name of a loved one and your purchase of handmade and Fair Trade items will benefit Christian missions that share the love of Christ and provide aid, relief, and economic and educational opportunities to neglected and marginalized people in our world.
The HOPE Market will be set up in the Multi-Purpose Building on November 29, December 3, December 6, and December 10.

On Saturday, November 11 fro 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, we will host New Testament scholar Scot McKnight for a day of lectures, Q&A, and breakout discussions. Dr. McKnight's lecture topics will focus on the church in a changing cultural context. The cost for this event is $25 per person and includes registration and lunch. Click here to register.

A church conference will be held on Sunday, November 19 at 5:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The 2018 proposed budget for the coming year will be presented for discussion.

Sunday, November 26 at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary.This worship service is in preparation for Advent and Christmas in which the sanctuary is adorned for the season. It will be followed by Sights and Sounds of the Season fellowship in the Multi-Purpose Building.
The longest night: a service of hope and healing (December 3)
Sunday, December 3 at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary. This worship service recognizes the realities of despair, brokenness, grief, and loss in life. The heaviness of grief, the challenges of illness and aging, the loss of a treasured relationship...These are just a few of the real-life challenges that hold our hearts captive during this season. We gather not to forget our pain but to remember it with honesty and to seek God's beauty in our brokenness and to reclaim the light that is found only in God's grace.
advent candlelight for women (december 4)
Monday, December 4, Fellowship at 6:00 pm in the MPB and worship at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. The evening will be full of worship, inspirational speakers, music, fellowship, and delicious desserts! It's the perfect evening to begin preparing our hearts for Christmas and the coming of our Lord! Contact Kim Floyd for general information and Angi Wilke for reservations.
jingle jam (December 10)
Every good and perfect gift comes from God. In fact, generosity is at the very core of God’s character—He even gave us His own son! Jingle Jam, happening December 10, is an exciting event that celebrates the true meaning of Christmas with families in our community. Dinner will begin at 5:00 pm, with the show starting at 6:00 pm. All ages are welcome to this dynamic evening of music, dancing, games, and a live telling of the Christmas story. Cost is $5 a person for the meal, $20 max for all families. The show is free. christmas concert (December 16)
Greg and Janna Long, members of the group Avalon, will present a Christmas concert with a message of hope and love in Christ. Greg and Janna are recipients of American Music and Dove Awards. The concert will be on Saturday, December 16 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

Youth Soup Kitchen (December 16)
The Student ministry will be helping out with the soup kitchen on Saturday, December 16. Meet at the church at 9:00 am to leave from there.
Youth at Meadowcreek Nursing HOme (December 17)
The Student Ministry will meet in the foyer at 10:00 am to help out at Meadowcreek Nursing Home on Sunday, December 17.

The Student Ministry will take a Christmas shopping trip to Abilene on Monday, December 18. More details to come.
Concert for Life (January 27, 2018)
The Pregnancy Help Center's (PHC) Concert for Life will be on January 27, 2018 at Angelo Bible Church. More information will be coming soon.
Right now, the PHC is asking for items to be donated for the silent auction. If you have something to donate, take it to the PHC at 2525 Sherwood Way or contact Pam Monday at (325)-223-5080 or and she will take them there. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
bounce student disaster recovery (March 14-17, 2018)
Parents & students grades 7-12 are invited to partner with BOUNCE for a mission trip to an area of the Gulf Coast impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Cost is $140 per person and includes meals, lodging, and travel. The student ministry will have a least one fundraiser to help off-set the cost for participants. Space is limited.
