A Place for Everyone
The Southland Music Ministry has a place for everyone, from children to senior adults. Opportunities for involvement include choirs, orchestra, hand bells, and more! Contact Dr. Tim Lyles, Minister of Music, at if you would like to join a music ministry.
The children's choir is open to kids grades K-5. It is an opportunity to sing in choir, sing solos, and participate in drama. The children's choir leads in worship and presents a musical each year in May. Rehearsals are at 5:30 pm on Wednesdays. Grades K-2 meet in Room 100. Grades 3-6 meet in Room 103.
Southland Youth Choir
The Youth Choir is open to students in grades 6-12. This group occasionally leads worship at Southland and participates in other projects such as Converge and the Baylor Youthcue Festival. Regular rehearsals are Sundays at 5:00 pm in the choir room.
The Sanctuary Choir is the primary worship choir and is open to all adults. Besides leading our worship time each Sunday, the Sanctuary Choir also leads seasonal services During Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas. If you have sung in choir in the past, or simply enjoy music, and have thought about being active in choir, please consider joining us for rehearsals at 7:15 pm on Wednesdays. Meet in the Choir Room.
The orchestra is open to adults and high school students. The orchestra leads in our worship service each Sunday. This group rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm. Meet in the Worship Center.
Southland Singers is our senior adult choir. They meet each Wednesday at 2:30 pm in the choir room. The Southland Singers lead worship a few Sundays a year and minister to many of our local nursing homes through song.
Rejoicing Ringers is an adult handbell choir that meets on Sundays at 5:00 pm. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact the church office at 949-9633.
