Growing a Relationship with the Lord
Southland Student Ministry (grades 7-12) exists to see students grow in their relationship with the Lord. Weekly meetings include Sunday School at 9:30 am on Sundays and "Oasis", a youth Bible study on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm (for middle school) and 6:45 pm (for high school). The youth group always meets upstairs in the Loft. Yearly highlights include youth camp, mission trips, and weekend retreats. Check out the Student Ministry's website for the most up-to-date information. Also, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

300 things about us...Ok, maybe 3 things.
Our student ministry exists to help students become disciples who go and make disciples. This is an extension of the mission of Southland Baptist Church.
Student ministry at Southland exists in 7-year increments. A student enters our ministry in the 6th grade, and if all goes perfectly (which it never does) then we have them for a total of 7 years. We have only 7 years to walk with them through some of the most formative and difficult years of their developing lives. It is our desire to intentionally shape our ministry so as to maximize a student's opportunity for faith formation within this limited time frame.
Love God and love people. (Matthew 22:37-39)
We value worship, Bible study, missions, fun, chicken nuggets, parent involvement, and student leadership.
Our long term goals include greater local mission involvement, participation in issues of social justice, and the expansion of our ministry to include a greater number of students in the regular life of our church.
