Students and Bridge 56 will be heading to the Soup Kitchen in San Angelo to help serve and encourage this incredible ministry in our community! Join us as we share the love of Christ through this incredible opportunity.
Date: Saturday, December 18th
Time: Meet at Southland at 7:30am (see schedule below for more details)
Items to Donate: Students and families can donate fruit (apples, oranges, or bananas), granola bars (like the Quaker Chewy ones), individual bags of chips, or individually wrapped cookies. These items must be dropped off at the church no later than Sunday, December 12th.
Ways to help: We need a large group early in the morning to help us assemble the meals. This would be a great time for a whole family to serve together! We need at least 15-20 people from 7:30-9:30am. At 9:30am we will load the meals and travel to the Soup Kitchen. We will then set up to serve out the meals from 11:00am-1:00pm. During our time at the Soup Kitchen, we will need 6-8 people to help pass out the meals.
Schedule of the Day:
7:30am – Meet at Southland to Pack Meals (Tacos provided for volunteers and students)
9:30am – Load packed meals and travel to Soup Kitchen
10:00am – Prep for Service
11:00am – Begin Serving Lunch
1:00pm – Finish with serving (clean and tear down)
1:15pm – Head to Whataburger on Bryant for Lunch
2:15pm – Back at Southland, Students, and Volunteers head home
Special Note: Students who serve can count this time toward any needed community service hours they might be required to collect. Please bring the necessary forms and I will sign those at the end of the day.
